ACR+ 2011 Annual General Meeting and International Conference: "Practical Implementation of the European Waste Framework Directive at local and regional level"- Genoa (Italy) 26-27 October

The ACR+ Annual General Meeting in 2011 will be devoted to the implementation of the Framework Directive at a local and regional level in Europe. An international conference will be organised together with the City of Genoa (Italy), on 26 - 27 October 2011. Related to the accounts from ACR+ members, the conference programme will address the great challenges of the implementation process. Here are the subjects to be discussed at the Conference: * 3 years after its adoption, the progress made with the implementation of the Waste Framework Directive * Legal obligations and implementation at local level for waste prevention, selective collection and recycling and economic instruments * Exchange of experiences concerning waste prevention: how to design, plan, implement, communicate and monitor a waste prevention programme? * How to measure and compare recycling performances at local and regional level? * How to build a Euro-Mediterranean network of local and regional authorities on waste management policies and capacity building?
