DESCRIPTION:The 7th European Conference on Sustainable Cities and Town
 s “A green and socially responsible economy\: a solution in times of
  crisis?" will focus on governance and finance for sustainable develop
 ment aiming to find lasting solutions to the current crisis both from 
 an economic and an environmental point of view. During the three-day c
 onference plenary sessions featuring high level speakers and interacti
 ve breakout sessions will take place at the International Conference C
 entre Geneva (CICG)\, where participants will have the opportunity to 
 mingle with those at the forefront of sustainable thought\, practice\,
  policy\, and implementation as well as exchange experience and best p
 ractices. Following the success of the previous editions\, the event a
 ims to gather more than 1000 participants from local and national gove
 rnments\, UN and European institutions as well as NGOs\, research inst
 itutes and businesses. In addition to the rich programme\, workshops o
 n site in the area of Geneva will show the latest innovative activitie
 s in urban sustainability.
