“The role of the Local and Regional Authorities in managing the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment within the EU framework - A case study: the ECOVITRUM project or how WEEEs can be converted into raw material”
The seminar aims to rise acknowledge on the present and the future reform legislation at European level on waste electrical and electronic equipment. The Conference is addressed to the local and regional authorities, who should manage the electrical and electronic waste, and enforce the objectives set by the EU, but it is also opened to all public and private stakeholders.
The event will explore potential financial support to achieve the environmental goals through the European Programme LIFE+. As an example of management of electrical and electronic waste, the Valencia Provincial Council will explain how they have faced, through the ECOVITRUM project, the problems aroused by these residues. This European project has significantly improved the waste management and, at the same time, it has valorised the residues creating raw materials for new commercial products.
