The ‘with existing measures’ scenario reflects existing policies and measures, while the ‘with additional measures’ scenario takes into account the additional effects of planned measures reported by Member States. For the most part, these projections were reported in 2015 and therefore do not reflect the expected effects of recent measures adopted at national level.
Only 18 Member States submitted a ‘with additional measures’ (WAM) scenario. For the other Member States (Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovenia and Sweden), the WEM scenario is shown instead.
Reported projections were subject to quality checks by the EEA and ETC/ACM. These checks led to adjustments of ESD projections for Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Malta, the Netherlands and Portugal.
