Percentage of the city that would be flooded in case water in rivers rises 1 m (only cities > 100 000 hab). The city is defined by its biophysical delineation (Urban Morphological Zone) inside the core city boundaries (Urban Audit). The background shows the relative change in 100-year return level of river discharge. Neither coastal floods nor flood protection measures are considered in the calculations.
1) Potential flood areas by 1 m water rise were delineated for all Europe according to ETC/LUSI (2010). 2) Cities were defined by clipping UMZs inside Core City of Urban Audit. 3) Resulting layers of step 1 and step 2 were crossed and, for each city (accordign definition in step 2) intersected area was calculated. 4) For each city, flooded area (step 3) was divided by total area (part of the UMZ inside the core city of Urban Audit) in order to obtain the percentage. 5) Percentages obtained from the cities were grouped by quartiles in order to represent groups of cities in the map.

Never dispose of liquids such as oils, grease, or hazardous liquids – like paint thinners or unused paint – by pouring them down the drain. Instead, collect them in one box and dispose with the rest of your waste. Keep them all in their individual packaging, to avoid possible chemical reactions. This will also make it easier for them to be identified during waste collection. If applicable, take them to your community collection point.
