The chart displays changes in heavy metals emission intensity of metal industry between 2004 and 2010. Heavy metals emission intensity is expressed as kilogram of heavy metals equivalent discharged in water (weighted according to toxicity) per unit of production of metal industry (expressed as one million Euro gross value added). See Methodology section for more details.
