Additional information

The vast majority of highly radioactive waste consists of spent fuel and spent fuel reprocessing wastes. No data on quantities of spent fuel are available for Lithuania or Slovenia, and limited time series data are available for the Czech Republic and Hungary (no data prior to 1995) and Slovakia (no data prior to 1999). The Member States not listed in the above figure do not have nuclear power plants. Italy phased out commercial nuclear power in 1987.
