Additional information

It is likely to have arrived in Yugoslavia in the early to mid-1980s. By the end of 2001 it had spread over 182.000 km2 in Europe. It has become an economic pest of maize fields in Serbia and Montenegro (FR Yugoslavia) (yield losses of up to 70%).
