Projected changes in annual mean surface temperature (in K) under A1B scenario, multi-model ensemble mean for the time period 2021-2050 relative to 1961-1990 mean. Map presents changes using ensemble mean of several regional climate models (RCMs), run by different climate modelling communities in the frame of the EU FP6 Integrated Project ENSEMBLES (Contract number 505539). Data are presented as changes in relative terms (according to 1961-1990 period) in spatial resolution of approximately 25 km.

What is on this Floods Directive map? River Basin Districts (RBDs) are the main units for the management of river basins and have been delineated by Member States under Article 3 of the Water Framework Directive (WFD). For the Floods Directive, Member States were given the choice to use either the WFD River Basin Districts, or to designate other Units of Management (UoM) for specific river basins or stretches of coastal areas under article 3 of that Directive. For Ireland and Italy such smaller UoM were designated. For the other EU Member States the same RBD as for the WFD therefore applies. The geographic area of some RBDs span more than one country (such as the Danube) and these are known as International RBDs. These RBDs are shown in yellow/orange. Others are contained completely within a country and are known as National RBDs, and are shown in light purple/light blue.

This map shows the location of Streamflow Gauging Stations in Europe, overlaid on the WFD RBDs. The map enables the user to view, select and display information on the location and characteristics of streamflow gauging stations across Europe. The stations depicted on the map represent points where discharge (streamflow) is measured (cubic metres per second) on a daily time step, allowing a comparison of the density and coverage of streamflow monitoring networks across Europe.
