Data about the EU emission trading system (ETS). The EU ETS data viewer provides aggregated data on emissions and allowances, by country, sector and year. The data mainly comes from the EU Transaction Log (EUTL). Additional information on auctioning and scope corrections is included.

Data sources

This data set is based on EUTL data published by DG Environment on the 19th August 2014.

The main source of information on the system at EU level is the European Union Transaction Log (EUTL) (see http://ec.europa.eu/environment/ets). The EUTL checks and records all transactions taking place within the trading system. It is run by the European Commission.

The EU emission trading system (ETS) is one of the main measures introduced by the EU to achieve cost-efficient reductions of greenhouse gas emissions and reach its targets under the Kyoto Protocol and other commitments.
