EEAFigure Change in emissions of nitrogen oxides compared with the 2010 NECD and Gothenburg protocol targets (EEA member countries)
The reported change in nitrogen oxide emissions (NOx) for each country, 1990-2009, in comparison with the 2010 NECD and Gothenburg protocol targets.

EEAFigure Emission trends of non-methane volatile organic compounds (EEA member countries, EU-27 Member States)
This chart shows past emission trends of NMVOCs in the EEA-32 and EU-27 group of countries. In addition - for the EU-27 - the 2010 emission ceiling and aggregated projections reported by Member States are shown.

EEAFigure Final energy consumption by sector in the EU-27, 1990-2008
Between 1990 and 2008, final energy consumption in transport increased by 33.7 % at an average annual rate of 1.7 %. In 2008, the share of transport in final energy consumption was 32.0%. Household final energy consumption increased by 4.3 % from 2007 to 2008, partially due to a very cold winter across Europe and the refilling of the fuel stock as well as poor energy efficiency improvements. In 2008, the share of household consumption in total final energy consumption was 25.3%. In 2008, the share of service sector in final energy consumption was 11.8%. In 2008, the share of industry in final energy consumption was 27.2%

EEAFigure Share of renewable electricity in gross electricity consumption (%) 1990-2008 and 2010 indicative targets
The data for World, Africa, Middle East, China, India, Russia and the United States are extracted from the EIA-database from the US DOE. These figures slightly differ from the Eurostat data. The renewable electricity share in Norway is above 100% in some years because a part of the (renewable) electricity generated domestically is exported to other countries. No 2007-2008 data available for Iceland, 2006 data were used

EEAFigure Average annual growth rates of renewable energy in electricity consumption (EU-27) for 1990-2008 and 2007-2008
Average annual growth rates of renewable energy in electricity consumption (EU-27) for 1990-2008 and 2007-2008. The highest growth rates in renewable electricity production in 2007-2008 were observed for photovoltaic (97%/year), wind (13 %/year) and biomass (7 %/year)
