Wind speed and direction derived from ASAR - Denmark

This image shows Denmark end the wind fields over the North Sea. The wind fields are derived from radar observations, the speed values range from 0 to 20 rn/s which is represented by the the size and color of the arrows. Studies using wind field observations during longer periods provide insight in the area’s clean energy potential. False coloring has been applied to sea and land to an original black and white radar image. acquired on 30 September 2009 by Envtsat/AS4R, ©ESA
