The figure illustrates the net emission reduction achieved in the period 1995-2008 (in the first column) and the net GHG emission reductions in 2020 compared to 1995 for all three scenarios (in columns two, three and four). The net emission reduction is calculated as the difference between net emissions in 1995 and net emissions in 2008 or 2020, as appropriate.

The objective of the Directive is to promote re-use, recycling and other forms of recovery of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in order to reduce the quantity of such waste to be disposed and to improve the environmental performance of the economic operators involved in the treatment of WEEE. The WEEE Directive sets criteria for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical and electronic equipment. The Directive is a recast of Directive 2002/96/EC. Specifically, data for Albania are available for the period 2003-2009, Croatia for 2004-2011, Serbia for 2006-2011, Montenegro only for the year 2009, Kosovo (under UNCR 1244/99) for the period 2007-2009.
