EEA presence at the Astana ministerial conference: The UNECE Seventh Ministerial Conference 'Environment for Europe' takes place from 21 to 23 September in Astana, Kazakhstan. It will include the participation of environment ministers and high-level government officials from 56 countries of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) region, including Canada and USA. Here you find an overview of the EEA presence at the conference.

EEA side event: Sharing environmental information in action: The EEA official side-event on 19 June will showcase examples of European progress in the global sharing of environmental information. It will also explain Europe's Shared Environmental Information System (SEIS) and its principles and foundations. The global promotion of access to information was a key element of Principle 10 of the 1992 Rio Declaration.

Europe in Bloom: a living façade at the European Environment Agency: On the occasion of the International Biodiversity Day, we will inaugurate a unique living façade of the Agency on 22 May. Our building on Kongens Nytorv 6 will be covered from May to October 2010 by about 5,000 plants drawing a map of the plant diversity in Europe.

Europe in bloom: a living façade at the European Environment Agency: The Living Façade is one of EEA's main contributions to the United Nations International Year of Biodiversity. The front of our building on Kongens Nytorv 6 is covered with about 5,000 annual plants showing a map of Europe and plant biodiversity. The façade will stay in place from 22 May to October 2010.
