DESCRIPTION:Several initiatives have been taken to provide overview of
  the potentials and challenges of sustainable biomass production and u
 se in the Baltic Sea Region. This links closely with the ongoing proce
 ss of EU criteria for sustainable biomass production. However\, most p
 rojects have had a national or sectoral approach. In order to tackle t
 he new challenges for a sustainable region\, it is necessary to make a
  cross-sectoral and macro-regional approach to sustainable biomass pro
 duction and use. This conference will focus on the sustainable product
 ion and use of biomass for bioenergy in a cross-sectoral and macro-reg
 ional perspective.
