The European Environment Agency (EEA) is organising a restricted competition with a view to drawing up a reserve list of contract agents to work as secretaries. Citizens of member countries of the European Environment Agency not being member states of the European Union (EU) are welcome to participate (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland or Turkey).
The EEA is an Agency of the European Union (EU) and one of the decentralised Community bodies. The EEA aims to support sustainable development and to help achieve significant and measurable improvement in Europe’s environment, through the provision of timely, targeted, relevant and reliable information to policy-making agents and the public.
The place of work will be Copenhagen, Denmark.
The tasks will include several or most of the following:
Candidates applying must satisfy the following general requirements on the closing date for the submission of applications:
A post-secondary education attested by a diploma, or
A secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education and appropriate professional experience of at least three years. The secondary education diploma giving access to post-secondary education may be replaced by a certificate of adequate professional training of not less than three years on condition that there was no similar professional training giving access to higher education at the time it was issued, or
Successful completion of intermediate education plus two years’ relevant supplementary specialised training plus five years’ appropriate professional experience.

The successful candidate will be offered a Contract Agent contract in accordance with the Conditions of Employment of Other Servants of the European Communities. The duration of the contract will be for a limited time period not exceeding four years.
Eligibility of candidates will be assessed according to compliance with all formal requirements by the closing date for the submission of applications.
The procedure comprises a pre-selection of the best qualified candidates based on the eligibility criteria in relation to the post to be filled. Pre-selected candidates will be called for an interview. The interview will be held for the most part in English. Pre-selected candidates will be asked to undergo a written test.
