Europe's water: efficient use is a must: Clean water is a natural resource vital not only for life on Earth but also for the wellbeing of our societies and economy. However, in many parts of Europe, this valuable resource is coming under increasing pressure, often seen in the form of over-exploitation and pollution.

European Consumer Day "Sustainable consumption in a time of crisis": The 14th edition of the European Consumer Day will be held in Copenhagen on 15 March 2012 and will focus on sustainable consumption. Sustainable consumption implies the use of goods and services that respond to basic needs and bring a better quality of life without jeopardising the needs of future generations. Issues to be discussed at the European Consumer Day 2012 are therefore very relevant. The current financial crisis plays a role in sustainable consumption patterns as new needs have appeared and new ways of buying have emerged.

European Environment Agency – What we do: A short video describing the products of the European Environment Agency (EEA). These include 5-year state of the environment reports, thematic and technical reports, briefings, highlights and information services on the web, multimedia and interactive web-based products on education. Our services include expert advice to policy makers, conferences and visits, information systems, networks and communication services for the public.
